The project

The Draper PREDICT96 Organ-on-Chip is a portable bioengineering device that provides accurate and scalable ways to test drug therapies before clinical trials or animal studies are available. This makes it possible to identify successful therapies earlier by providing data sets during development. Designed in collaboration with design director Robert de Saint Phalle and Draper's PREDICT96 Organ-on-Chip team.

Inspiration board of white and grey minimal devices such as air purifiers and power banks, with a list of design traits
Page of pencil and marker sketches exploring housings for the PREDICT96 pump unit and control unit, with a blue glow
Two white Draper units in CAD: one with a glowing blue front and connector ports, one with a dark front
Cutaway render of the micro-pump sensor array with circuit boards, plus a magnified single well with two pumps
Exploded view of the micro-pump sensor array with labeled housing, circuit board, pumps, sippers and well baseplate
Exploded view of the white control unit with labeled circuit boards, power switch, connectors and LED indicator
Renders of the control unit stacked two and three high, with a zoom showing feet that nest into the unit below
Phone showing the PREDICT96 app with channel controls and a Start button, next to the two linked units
Photos of 1:1 scale prototype units on a white table with tools, a printed sheet and a glowing blue front
Two white prototype units, one with a glowing blue front, beside a clear well plate on a white table
Hand resting on a white Draper unit with a glowing blue front panel and six ports
